Yesterday after work I decided to update one of the scripts that was eating up quite a bit of resources on my server due to it being a rush job.

So here’s the new version of dynamic avatars for Popmundo which has a nice visitor counter on it so that you can see how many people have looked at your character in Popmundo.

Popmundo Avatars with visitor counters

I can now easily add new characters/avatars and configure what font gets used for the visitor counter. And I can do that all now with a standard browser. To see it in action have a look at Noa Noir.

The beauty of this is that you can change the picture anytime you want yourself and the counter will still count and be there! If you’d like to have one of these for your character as well, just leave a comment here or get in touch with me (yes, you can have custom fonts as well).

For the past few days I’ve been playing Dragon Age: Origins, the new masterpiece from BioWare. Just like Blizzard, BioWare is one of those rare companies that only releases high quality games.

MDK 2, Baldur’s Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect just to a name a few. Okay, I might have named almost all of them, but you get the idea.

So naturally I was very excited about Dragon Age and what BioWare would give us this time. Read on for my first impressions and screenshots. More

To put it in the words that they used to advertise the game with, Borderlands is what happens when FPS has a child with RPG. A role playing shooter if you will.

But the thing that shines the most in Borderlands in my opinion is the cooperative multiplayer. Good co-op games are far and few which is something I never really understood because they are so much more fun than your usual singleplayer and/or deathmatch type of games. More

Random Band Banner
in Popmundo

A few people have asked me how the BEC. band banner works. What’s so special about it? Well every time you view the band page it shows a different banner. So how does that work? Quite simple really.

With the help of PHP and mod_rewrite (Apache module) you can achieve the same effect for your band. Should you want to use multiple banners for it that is. You can also use this technique for anything where you’d like to have a random rotating image and can only link to a static image link.

So let’s get started on it then! More

Now that I’m back from Oslo (and what a lovely city it is, highly recommended to visit!) it’s time to get back to more regular updates. First up, Machinarium. What is Machinarium? Only the best/most interesting looking point and click adventure game.

Machinarium

I’ve played through the demo already and wow, I’m really impressed. So creative, and visually stunning. But most importantly, so not your average point and click game. Be sure to try it out. At least the demo (click on the above link and play the demo in your browser, without having to install anything).
