If you want the really short version of the review of Modern Warfare 2, then basically it’s a non stop Tour de Force of gaming experience. If you like shooters, you can’t go wrong with getting Modern Warfare 2.
If you want a slightly longer review and more screenshots then read on. Modern Warfare 2 is set just five years after the first Modern Warfare, and just like in previous Call of Duty games you take the role of several different characters assigned to different military organizations across the world.
In the course of the single player campaign you’ll travel to and get to experience locations like Afghanistan, Moscow, Rio de Janeiro, Siberia, Washington D.C and yes, even outer space.
What I love about Modern Warfare games is how well the missions are scripted and just how great the story is. You never really have that “Oh look another group of bad guys that I must kill to advance” feeling. Sure quite often that is what you have to do, but there are just so many great things thrown in between that you don’t really mind it.
Some may wonder if it’s better than MW1, and well I’d have to go with a no. There are some things in MW2 which are better than in MW1. Obviously one of them being the graphics, but the AI has changed as well. For example there are no more infinitely respawning enemies like in MW1, instead the game pushes you along by introducing enemies behind you.
Overall thoughts? A very well made game (multiplayer aside) and quite challenging on the higher difficulty levels as well. And as my really really short review above said, if you like shooters you can’t go wrong with getting Modern Warfare 2. I certainly had a blast playing through it. Time well spent.

“If you like shooters, you can’t go wrong with getting Modern Warfare 2.” You mentioned it twice :D.

I’m thinking about playing through it once more given how short it is, and they do say that two games are never quite the same as well.

Well I ran through it on hardened the first time, and now I’m going through on Veteran, being an achievement whore and all :P
