I see a lot of posts on various forums where people ask what animes are great and what they should watch if they like this and that. Well I just stumbled across the perfect image for that.
I’ve seen 14 of them and I agree with all of those choices. And it looks like I have some new things to watch myself as well. If anyone knows who made the image, let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.

Hurm, Cowboy Bebop, Planetes, Ergo Proxy, Black Lagoon, think that’s all I’ve seen so far from that.

You haven’t seen Ghost in the Shell? I’m sure you’d love it.

Seen the first film, got so confused by how many sequels and series there were I was worried I’d miss something or not get the order right.

Just watch Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It works just fine on its own as well.

Hmmm…
Some shows from mostly within the past decade or so, but nothing too extreme. Yes, a lot of them are memorable, but as a cross sample it’s also a bit lacking.
Here’s a few that are left out…
1. Nadesico
2. Gatekeepers
3. Ouran High School Host Club
4. Death Note
5. Magic Knight Rayearth
Just citing those has it’s own broad cross-section of the genre…granted anime is really hard to pinpoint anyway…

Hmm, well I don’t know really. Nadesico is well mostly just entertainment, not much that made it stand out or be special. At least that’s how I remember it. Haven’t seen 2 and 3. Death Note, agreed. Haven’t seen 5 either.
Now as far as extreme goes, I guess nothing’s too extreme, there’s plenty of crazy on that list though, like FLCL.
