We're Back Online

Wahey, so I’m back online on a new ISP. Finally an unlimited bandwidth option, 4mbps speed, and not at an outrageous price either. So I’m quite happy. Lost my wifi capabilities for a while now though, that is until I figure out how to use my router/modem in combination with their modem.

But anyway, we’ll be back to normal programming tomorrow again, sorry for any inconveniences or loss of sleep my lack of proper posting may have caused(read: lots of sarcasm, and joke).

ISP Woes

Sorry about the lack of post for yesterday, but we’re switching ISP at home, and are currently having some downtime. I don’t know how quickly I’ll have internet at home again(hopefully tonight, latest by weekend). So until then the blog updates are in a hiatus.

In the downtime, I’m currently playing and enjoying Dark Messiah. So look forward to a mini review of that soon, as well as the best episodes of Season 8 of the X – Files, and the usual gibberish from me.

Say what you want about anime and the people that watch it. But you can’t deny that there is quality anime out there. Just like there are quality cartoons. Just to name a few good animes, Grave of the Fireflies, Princess Mononoke, Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, are all great anime movies/series. And as much as some of you will probably rebel, and revolt against my opinion, from what I’ve seen so far Naruto is great as well.

Naruto

I have only seen 15 episodes, but from these episodes alone I can say that I like the show. And that I will continue watching it. I have even gone as far as to say that Dragonball Z is to Naruto what old Battlestar Galactica is to the new Battlestar Galactica series. Everywhere you look you see improvement. There’s a lot less grunting, and it’s a lot funnier than DBZ ever was.

Hela Progress Part I

I bet you lot thought that I had completely forgotten about Fall of Hela. But no, I haven’t, and there has been some progress lately. Even if it’s not much, I got some of the teamwork and development cycle things sorted out. There is now an user joinable group on SGN forums where anyone who has any of the needed skills can apply to join the Hela Developers.

Right now I’m mostly looking for PHP/mySQL developers, as that is where the current bottleneck is. For those of you non technical people out there, there are some positions in design as well. There will be a need for translators as well once Hela reaches its beta milestone.

Lastly, I’m also willing to consider people for game designer roles, but these are hard to come by an very limited. I’m currently thinking maximum of two game designers/idea people on the team, and these two should be really exceptional and very devoted people, otherwise I can slap the ideas together myself.

So if you want to join a new and exciting project, then be sure to drop by at SGN and give me a shout.

Popular Cartoons Anime-ised

Just today I stumbled upon a new cartoon strip which has been drawn in an anime style. Basically, what the characters would like, if they were anime and not their own/traditional cartoon style. I’m not really a great fan of anime, but it’s not like I don’t like it either. There’s the good, and then there’s the bad, just like with everything else. But I really do love this transformations from traditional famous cartoons to anime/manga style.

Anime Charlie Brown

This is the latest one I’ve seen. Quite clear that it’s Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus from the Peanuts comics. This one is probably a lot “more anime” than the other ones that I’ve seen, as the changes are quite big, but very anime, and recognisable. It was posted on myconfinedspace.com which is sadly currently under strain by digg users, so I couldn’t confirm the author of this piece of drawing.

Anime Futurama

Futurama by spacecoyote.

Anime Simpsons

The Simpsons, also by spacecoyote. Two really great pieces of art. She has some more Simpson and Futurama anime versions at her deviant profile, so be sure to check them out as well.
